Review: Sunrise on the Reaping

by Suzanne Collins

I have a confession to make; I love this world Suzanne Collins has created and I will read every book that comes my way that describes the Capitol and the districts. I will pay good money to go to the theater to see the movies. I own most of them. In other words, I am biased.

I found the book to be engaging with a fast moving plot. Haymitch was difficult for me to visualize and understand his motives, but I enjoyed the character of Maysilee, who develops nicely during the story. For a longtime fan, it is a delight to read the backstories of characters that play an integral role in the original books. This isn’t the book for your introduction to the world of Panem, but it is a great read for fans of The Hunger Games.
